Overview

The master brand is standard for Queensland Government Websites.

Master brand sites must convey the look and feel of Queensland Government.

All QLD Government communications must follow the requirements of the master-brand category unless approval has been granted to use another brand (planet).

Coat of Arms + Wordmark and site name guidelines

The guidelines below detail the placement of the Queensland Government Coat of Arms  + Wordmark on Master brand sites. It also details what options master brand sites have for site names.

Desktop pattern

The standard COA + wordmark lockup is used on qld.gov.au. When there is no site name this is the best option for master brand sites.

All other master brand sites must use the standard pattern and cannot use anything other then a name identifier unless approval has been granted via DPC.

Mandatory requirements:

  • Must use the COA + Wordmark or COA and site name lockup.
  • Blue COA + Wordmark.
  • Minimum height: 3.5 rem or (56px).
  • Minimum vertical padding: 2 rem (24px).
  • Minimum horizontal padding: 1.5 rem (20px).
  • Site names must be no larger
then 1.25 rem (20px).

Tablet pattern

On tablet the height of the COA + Wordmark is reduced slightly and the colour is reversed.

Mandatory requirements:

  • Must use the COA + Wordmark
  • COA + Wordmark must be the only identifier in the top banner
  • White COA + Wordmark
  • Minimum height: 2.5 rem (40px)
  • Minimum vertical padding: 1 rem 16px)
  • Minimum horizontal padding: 1 rem (16px)

Mobile pattern

On mobile the height of the COA + Wordmark is halved and the colour is reversed.

Mandatory requirements:

  • Must use the COA + Wordmark.
  • COA + Wordmark must be the only identifier in the top banner
  • White COA + Wordmark
  • Minimum height: 1.75 rem (28px)
  • Minimum vertical padding: 2 rem (10px)
  • Minimum horizontal padding: 1 rem (16px)

Placement

This Queensland Government COA + Wordmark is the dominant identifier on the master site and is placed in the left of the header.
